Onam is the national festival of Kerala.It is celebrate in memory of a great King Mahabali,who ruled Kerala once.In order to welcome him, every household compete to make flower arrangements in their front yard ten days before the festival. On the tenth day Ladies wear the traditional saree called Set Mundu of Kerala,Make a grand feast for the family and do a traditional dance in group called Kaikottikali.All schools have holidays after the exams and children enjoy these days in their ancestral homes with grandparents!!!
