Description
Santhanu was the king of Hastinapura.Once when he was walking on the banks of river Ganges,he saw a celestial damsel,Ganga Devi, the custodian of river Ganges! The king felt a strange attraction towards her and she also reciprocated instantly. Thus,Ganga Devi became the queen of Hastinapura.....on one condition that her husband would never ask any questions about her actions !!!
In course of time, she gave birth to a cute prince but threw the child into the river. One by one seven sons were born to them but she did the same deed to all the babies....(there was a reason for her actions which were based on their previous births-She was not a cruel mom as we think )But when she was about to throw the eighth son,King Santhanu devastated and confronted her...... by this way he broke his own promise, given at the time of their wedding !!!!She was shocked and took the new born and walked into the river and disappeared - while the king failed to follow her.King Santhanu stuck with grief, thinking about spending the rest of his life without her..........(the story never ends)
